Cleveland County Water (CCW) is a Sanitary District located in Cleveland County, NC. CCW is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Part-Time Custodian. The assigned work location for this position will be located at 715 Polkville Road, Shelby, NC 28150.
The Part-Time Custodian position performs intermediate manual work cleaning and maintaining buildings and facilities, performing basic grounds maintenance work, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the assigned supervisor.
A high school diploma or GED and minimal experience with general knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment, and ability to use them economically and efficiently; ability to understand oral and written directions; ability to read and write; physical ability to perform intermediate manual work; ability to work independently; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates. Specific duties include dusting offices and buildings; cleans furniture as needed, washes windows, walls, woodwork, and bathroom fixtures; cleans window blinds. Vacuums and cleans carpets, removes stains, mops floors. Changes light bulbs; checks fire extinguishers; changes air conditioner filters. Helps set up rooms for activities and special events. Cleans water coolers and fountains, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee area, and other kitchen equipment. Gathers and disposes of refuse, litter, and trash. Sweeps sidewalks and keeps sidewalks and doors free of leaves and debris. Keeps equipment clean and orderly; maintains inventory for general housekeeping.
Possession of a valid driver’s license in the State of North Carolina is required upon hire.
