Cleveland County Water (CCW) is a Sanitary District located in Cleveland County, NC. CCW is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of IT/GIS DIRECTOR. CCW serves public water supply to a population of 60,000 and has over 22,000 active accounts.
The IT/GIS Director is responsible for work that includes planning, administering, and maintaining IT systems, infrastructure, and procedures, overseeing all aspects of networking computer hardware/software, providing assistance to users, and server administration. Also plans, develops, implements, and maintains the GIS database system and related applications; does related work as required.
Thorough knowledge of the operation, uses and capabilities of data processing equipment; thorough knowledge of systems analysis, programming and networking; thorough knowledge of Geographic Information Systems; thorough knowledge of the functions and operations of all departments; general knowledge of office procedures, practices and equipment; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions; ability to install and configure networking hardware and software; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and vendors; skilled in the use of data processing equipment.
Bachelor’s degree with concentration in GIS, geography, computer science, or related field, along with a minimum of two years’ experience with GIS design and maintenance which may include database management, data analysis, server administration, and application programming. Preference is five to ten years’ experience in these areas.
